For
Phoebe
"Phoebe Child of Stark"
In perfect peace you lay in sleep, a stone above your head.
A garden filled with trees and brush,
surround your tranquil bed.

A peaceful wondrous garden filled with flowers, young and old.
Autumn blankets your simple bed with red, yellows and gold.

A beauty deeper than the soul.  A spirit filled with love.
Your voice a haunting melody,
whispered through the wings of doves.

Deep within your breaking heart,
your heartache knew no bounds.
The stone set by your autumn bed tells a story so profound.

This life much shorter than your own,
this life, your dream come true.
This angel sent from heav’n above,
now lies beneath the dew.

Who are you Phoebe, child of woe?  Your life so swiftly passed.
At twenty-one you were laid to rest
your light dimmed so very fast.

All was not in vain my dear, a tear I shed for Thee.
Your life a valiant race was won, your inner beauty I can see.

Sleep on amongst the birds and trees.  Sleep on under the sky.
Sleep on under the rain that falls,
While God comforts you on high.

So rest now, Phoebe, child of Stark.  A tribute to you I write.
Your child forever with you will be,
In God’s peaceful, heavenly light.
